Mary Kay Sperling Rose

I am thrilled to be coming to the class reunion!
I have so many good memories from growing up in W.G.!
I'm not sure how many people I really knew...I think I was somewhat of a wall-flower....and a "tomboy"...always riding on my bike to "Little Webster" to Bettendorf's to get a loaf bread at my Mom's request; or biking to Velvet Freeze to get ice cream.
Football games in the fall and swimming at the pool at "40 Acres" were simple and wonderful times....walking home after school, stopping at friends homes along the way, or maybe just sitting on a friends' front porch....and taking FOREVER to walk a couple miles!!...not a care in the world...

Took off for Central Missouri State College...ended up in Kansas City area...actually Leawood, Kansas.......an older area with lots of large trees that remind me of Webster.
Worked as a lab tech at Midwest Research Institute, and met my love..Joe Rose....a microbiologist working there as well.
We raised these two darling girls and have to many great memories of family trips, the kids school days and all their sports and activities, lots of dinners on the deck with family and friends, passionately gardening with vegetables, grape vines and fruit trees. Now visiting our girls and grandchildren..what joy.
I have worked as a realtor for the past 43 years!...yikes!..but I love it..... you meet people from all over the world, who are now our friends! We have had illness, pain, lost loved ones...many sad times.....but all in all we can't complain,,,this truly is "A Wonderful Life" to be born in this free country and raised in a great place like Webster Groves.
